I have heard of a man who stood to speak
At the funeral of a friend
He referred to the dates on her tombstone
From the beginning to the end

He noted that first came her date of birth
And spoke the following date with tears,
But he said what mattered most of all
Was the dash between those years

(1982 - 2007)

For that dash represents all the time
That she spent alive on earth
And now only those who loved her
Know what that little line is worth

For it matters not, how much we own
The cars, the house, the cash
What matters is how we live and love
And how we spend our dash

So think about this long and hard
Are there things you'd like to change?
For you'll never know how much time is left
That can still be rearranged

If we could just slow down enough
To consider what's true and real
And always try to understand
The way other people feel

And be less quick to anger
And show appreciation more
And love the people in our lives
Like we've never loved before

If we treat each other with respect
And more often wear a smile
Remembering that this special dash
Might only last a little while

So, when your eulogy's being read
With your life's actions to rehash
Would you be proud of the things they say
About how you spent your dash?

We've spent some moments together
And memories to be cherish forever

It's a wonder how you can always make me smile
And how a day spent with you seems worth while
It's amazing how you complete my day
By simply listening to whatever I say

I never knew the true definition of bliss
Until I found the things I never knew I've missed
You have no idea of how you saved me from misery
And from the ghosts that have long been chasing me

And now that we're finally together
I no longer have to doubt the magic of forever
Yes, it is very magical, feels like I'm being risen
For with you, I've found my own piece of heaven

Possesses an angelic face

I always had questions, mostly WHY
I was deeply hurt, I was in pain

I was so lost, was very confused
I was betrayed, felt like I've just been used
I had nobody, I was always alone
My heart went astray, I was always alone
I used to give more, but was given less
I trusted, but was betrayed

But now I'm contented
There's nothing more that I want
For I have already found what I've been searching for
And now I know why I doubted FOREVER before
Because I used to believe in YOU and FOREVERMORE

A love that's so immense
An emotion with an unknown whence
A feeling that's pristine
A passion that will forever reign

That's how love for you has been
Though I know it's forbidden

A dream that can never come true
A rapture that will never last
A longing that will soon fade

It's all that'll exists
